Orange County Sheriff’s deputies on Sunday morning arrested the third woman who walked out of a child care facility on West Colonial Drive, leaving 13 kids to fend for themselves. This morning’s arrest followed the arrest of two other women who also abandoned the children on Friday afternoon.
Investigators were called to the All Star’s Child Care on 7429 West Colonial Drive where 13 children had been abandoned by their supervisors for more than one hour.
According the clickorlando.com, the owner of the day care facility Ednita Williams had gone to run and errand, only to return to find the workers gone.
On Saturday, July 10, deputies contacted two of the day care workers and upon questioning, arrested Michelle Bell, 42 years and Laquanda King, 33. Both have been charged with 13 counts of child neglect.
A third day care worker, Laqunda M. Hill, 30-years-old, turned herself in to the Orange County Jail on Sunday morning. A warrant had not been issued for her arrest, detectives said. Investigators arrested Hill and have also charged her with 13 counts of child neglect.
According to news reports, the day care workers had a dispute with the owner of the All Star’s Child Care facility.
God only knows what could have possessed three women who may also be moms, to walk out and leave 13 defenseless children unattended for about 30 minutes.
