Sanford Police caught a murder suspect that had been on the run for nearly two years Tuesday night.
A tip led Seminole County deputies to 20-year-old Treven Frazier and he then led them on a short chase through Casselberry before he and another man were finally arrested.
Frazier was wanted for a robbery and murder that happened nearly two years ago. He is expected to appear before a judge Wednesday.
Investigators said Frazier robbed the Video News Store in Sanford in May of 2007, shooting and killing the clerk inside.
Deputies spotted his car in the Fern Park area, Tuesday night. Frazier would not pull over and led investigators on a short chase that ended near Secret Lake Park in Casselberry when his car struck a law enforcement vehicle.
Frazier then tried to run on foot but was eventually caught. Frazier and a second man were taken into custody.
Residents in the Casselberry neighborhood said they were used to deputies catching speeders in front of their home, but not accused murderers.
The loud sound of police sirens and helicopters quickly got neighborhood resident Jeff Leonard’s attention.
“It got crazy the helicopter started broadcasting to let everyone know to go in their homes and then we got swarmed by our great police,” said Leonard.
