Mayor Dyer will join the Orlando Science Center President and CEO JoAnn Newman to promote the “science of sustainability.” The Orlando Science Center recently embarked on a major retrofit of its facility to increase its energy efficiency, decrease operational costs and help serve as a community leader in the use of sustainable technologies.

International Council of Shopping Centers 500th Next Generation Event

Mayor Dyer will serve as one of four panelists discussing the strengths and opportunities of the retail market in Orlando at the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) 500th Next Generation event. ICSC is the world’s largest retail real estate trade organization comprised of developers, architects, lenders, municipalities and other related companies.

Mayor Dyer will attend a community meeting hosted by UCF President John Hitt and the Central Florida Partnership. Thomas L. Baptiste, President of the National Center for Simulation, will present a report entitled, “The Economic Impact of Central Florida’s Modeling, Simulation & Training Industry.” Central Florida currently serves as the nation’s epicenter for modeling, simulation and training.

President Barack Obama Parkway Groundbreaking
Intersection of President Barack Obama Parkway and Cason Cove Drive
Mayor Dyer and Orlando City Commissioners will commemorate the groundbreaking of President Barack Obama Parkway. When all segments of the President Barack Obama Parkway extension are completed, the new roadway, as well as the existing segments of Pine Hills Road, will be a nine-mile long continuous connection from Beggs Road in the Apopka Area to Conroy Road in the Millenia Area.
