Joint Operation in Hillsborough County Led to Multiple Arrests

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, the Tampa Police Department, and the Florida Department of Corrections recently led a joint operation that resulted in multiple arrests.

The collaborative operation, which took place in December, led to significant results in combating recent crime trends across Hillsborough County.

The results of the Central Florida operation include:

  • 146 Traffic Stops
  • 17 Arrests
  • 2 Firearms Seized
  • $1,400 in U.S. Currency Seized

One notable arrest occurred during a traffic stop near North 15th Street and East Fowler Avenue in Tampa when deputies arrested 19-year-old Brandon Landaverde after finding a loaded firearm inside the vehicle. During further investigation, it was found that he is a three-time convicted felon and was in violation of his probation.

Landaverde was arrested and charged with Carrying Concealed Firearm, Felon in Possession of a Firearm (x2), Violation of Probation: Fraud-Credit-Card, Violation of Probation: Unlawful Carrying Concealed Firearm, Violation of Probation: Fraud Use of Personal ID, Violation of Probation: Carrying Concealed Firearm, and Violation of Probation: Obstruct Crime Investigation.

“These results highlight the importance of proactive partnerships between agencies to keep our community safe,” said Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister. “By working together, we’re making it clear that illegal activity has no place in Hillsborough County.”

This is an active investigation, according to local law enforcement.
