Erin Huntley, Windemere resident and Chair of the Orange County Republican Party, was one of the 30 electors appointed to the Electoral College.
Huntley, and Republican leaders from around the state, traveled to Tallahassee to participate in the proceedings. The Florida Electoral College was scheduled to meet in the Senate Chambers at the State Capitol on December 17th at 2pm.
“As a wife, mother, and proud Orange County resident, it is a tremendous honor to be one of the only 30 Floridian electors for Donald J. Trump and JD Vance,” Huntley said. “Representing our community in such a historic election is both a privilege and a responsibility I hold with great pride.”
Each state has as many electors as they have members of Congress, and Florida has 30. Electors are chosen by the state political parties and meet the first Tuesday after the second Wednesday in December following the general election.
In Central Florida, Huntley was recently re-elected unanimously as Chair of the Republican Party in Orange County. A highlight of Erin’s tenure is the 9 point shift towards Trump since the previous election – the best Republican performance in Orange County since 2004.
Huntley is a human resource strategist and educational advocate. Erin Huntley and her husband, Eric, live in Windermere with their three children.
