A 22-year-old was arrested for a recent shooting at a Central Florida apartment complex after a verbal altercation escalated.
Tampa Police arrested 22-year-old Joshua Thomas in connection with the shooting that occurred this month on Patsy Court.
At around 9:10am, police officers responded to the Silver Oaks Apartments in reference to someone shot.
Upon arrival, officers located the adult male victim who sustained multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
The investigation revealed, both parties, who are known to each other, were at the defendant’s residence, when a verbal altercation escalated. Tampa Police said that Thomas intentionally grabbed the firearm and shot the victim multiple times.
According to law enforcement, while officers were rendering first aid to the victim, Thomas ran up to the victim and said he shouldn’t have made him “do it.”
Thomas was immediately taken into custody on scene and transported to Orient Road Jail. He was charged with One Felony Count of Attempted Murder in the Second Degree with a Firearm and One Felony Count of Aggravated Battery.
