Foundation Fighting Blindness Hosts 19th Annual Orlando VisionWalk

The Foundation Fighting Blindness, committed to finding treatments and cures for blinding retinal diseases, will host their Orlando VisionWalk on Sunday, April 14th at Cypress Grove Park (290 Holden Ave, Orlando, FL, 32839).

This family-friendly event is an opportunity for VisionWalk supporters in Orlando and Central Florida to come together to raise awareness and funds for the Foundation’s mission.

Beginning at 10am, VisionWalk participants will gather at Cypress Grove Park for an exciting morning filled with entertainment, kid’s activities, refreshments, and more. Participants are invited to post pictures or videos of their family and friends at the VisionWalk using #VisionWalkStrong.

Through its 19-year history and the generosity of more than 200,000 walkers, donors, and corporate sponsors nationally, VisionWalk has raised more than $66 million. These funds have enabled the Foundation to continue advancing its important mission of moving vision-restoring treatments from the laboratory to the patients who need them.

Vision science is making great strides — today, more than 40 potential treatments are in clinical trials — but there is still more work to do.

National and local sponsors include Visionary Champion National Partner, Johnson & Johnson; National VisionWalk Sponsor, Samsung, Community Champion sponsor, Ahmed & Sheik Family; Community Leader sponsors: Amgen, Genentech, Florida Retina Institute, The Kent & Jeannine Kalkwarf Charitable Foundation, Schleich Family Foundation, Maryann & George Friedrich, Helen and William Mazer Foundation, and Jim & Ginny Schott; Community Partner sponsors: Center for Retina & Macular Disease, Gary Day, Dick & Brenda Schoonover, and Lisa & Dan Spoone, in memory of Pat & Bill Spoone; and Community Supporter sponsors: Daniel Day and Kay & Ed Hart.
