South Florida Man Wins $1 Million Playing $30 Scratch-Off Game

The Florida Lottery recently announced that Karl Vaudreuil, of Boynton Beach, claimed a $1 million prize from the BILLION DOLLAR GOLD RUSH SUPREME scratch-off game at the Lottery’s West Palm Beach District Office.

The Palm Beach County man chose to receive his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $880,000.00.

Vaudreuil purchased his winning ticket from Gateway Shell, located at 2360 North Federal Highway in Boynton Beach in South Florida. The retailer will receive a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning scratch-off ticket.

The $30 BILLION DOLLAR GOLD RUSH SUPREME scratch-off game launched in February 2021 and features four top prizes of $15 million. The game also features 24 prizes of $1 million. The game’s overall odds of winning are 1-in-2.59.

Scratch-off games are an important part of the Lottery’s portfolio of games, comprising approximately 72 percent of ticket sales in fiscal year 2022-2023. Additionally, since inception, scratch-off games have awarded more than $59.5 billion in prizes, created 1,947 millionaires, and generated more than $18.39 billion for the state’s Educational Enhancement Trust Fund (EETF).
