Three men who robbed a bank on East Colonial Drive on January 19th have been caught and jailed, Orange County Sheriff’s deputies said.
On Tuesday January 19th, the Fifth Third Bank located at 16860 East Colonial Drive was robbed by three males. As a result of the subsequent investigation the three people listed below were arrested. All have criminal histories in Orange County, with Pettus’ being the most significant with 26 prior felony arrests to include robbery.
Jeffery Tyler, 21 years
Daniel Pettus, 37 years
William Ball, 22 years
The investigation is ongoing, however detectives say the dye-pack in the bag the suspects fled with exploded. At one point one of the suspects was spotted purchasing bleach and other cleaning materials, which deputies believed was used in an attempt to clean the bills, and possibly the suspects themselves.
Detectives from the OCSO Robbery Unit were able to track down leads, interview witnesses, narrow down suspects, and then eventually write the warrants that led to the suspects’ arrests.
