OPD Solves Snatching of Firearms at Shooter’s World

The Orlando Police Department was able to solve a crime that involved suspects snatching firearms at a local Shooter’s World. Violent Crimes Detectives were able to identify, arrest, and charge the two suspects involved.




On April 13, 2023, around 10:50am, OPD West Patrol Units were called to Shooter’s World about a robbery by sudden snatching of their firearms. Another call came in for the same type of crime around 6:10pm of another attempt to snatch patron’s firearms, but that attempt was unsuccessful. The victims gave police similar suspect descriptions and OPD Violent Crimes Detectives went to work.

OPD partnered with and received assistance of law enforcement counterparts with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office’s Crime Analysis and School Resource Officers.

Christopher Farr was arrested this month and is charged with Robbery with a Firearm and two counts of Grand Theft 3rd Degree – Firearm for the morning incident and Robbery with a Firearm and Grand Theft 3rd Degree – Firearm for the afternoon incident. When interviewed by OPD detectives, Farr fully confessed to these crimes.

Jude Lamothe was arrested this month and charged with Robbery with a Firearm and two counts of Grand Theft 3rd Degree for the morning incident and Robbery with a Firearm and Grand Theft 3rd Degree – Firearm for his involvement in the afternoon incident. Lamothe was also charged with a vehicle burglary detectives were able to link him to that happened on April 11th. Lamothe had recently been arrested on April 29, 2023 for breaking into a marked FHP cruiser and during that arrest a firearm taken during the Shooter’s World morning robbery was recovered.

“We are thankful for the teamwork that went into solving these cases and happy to have these criminals off our local streets,” OPD posted.
