A man who wrestled his two-year-old son into a burning fire pit, has been arrested.
Police detectives said Michael Bargeron, 24, who was drunk at a New Year’s Eve party on Johnston Road Southeast, began wrestling with the tot near the fire. Despite being warned about the dangers, Bargeron continued wrestling, whereupon the toddler ended up falling into the fire.
Police say that Bargeron did not jump in to help the boy, but his mother did. The child was taken to the hospital with burns on his arm, stomach and but.
Police arrested Bargeron hours later and carted him off to jail. Bond has been set at $50,000.
