The team, which also includes representatives form the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) arrived in Kingston yesterday, following the crash of the Boeing 737, which overshot the runway late Tuesday night.

All 148 passengers and crew made it safely off the plane, which came to a halt some 3 meters from the Caribbean Sea, although dozens sustained back, neck and facial injuries.

The plane’s fuselage cracked, crushed the left landing gear and separated both engines, but official have said that it is too early to speculate as to what caused the crash.

Many of the passengers and family members have said that it is a Christmas miracle that there were no fatalities.

It will likely take several weeks to determine the exact cause of the crash and whether bad weather, which was being experienced at the time of landing, played any role.
