Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex revealed the opening date for their new 50,000 square foot, multi-tiered attraction that will allow guests to explore deep space travel. The new attraction, Gateway: The Deep Space Launch Complex, will show off the cutting-edge innovations of human exploration from NASA and commercial partners, plus launch guests aboard one of four unforgettable journeys during an immersive ride, Spaceport KSC.
The new deep space attraction is set to open June 15th. A release said visitors will “experience the interstellar travel of tomorrow while celebrating what is happening right now within the space program.”
The attraction will allow people to get up close to actual spacecraft and see visionary designs for solutions to propel the pathway of human deep space travel. For example, a spaceflown SpaceX Falcon 9 booster, officially known as Booster 1023, supported two SpaceX missions and can be seen inside Gateway. Then, if you are seeking a thrill, you can enter the spaceport of the future, preparing yourself to launch on one of four spectacular deep space journeys.
After being teased for months about a “spring opening,” Central Florida visitors and space lovers will finally be able to immerse into the deep space travel of the future with the opening of Kennedy Space Center’s new attraction just before the official summer season starts. It also offers summer tourists another option while visiting Florida.
