At approximately 7:20 am, Tuesday, December 8th, Orange County Sheriff’s deputies responded to Cypress Creek High School in reference to a homemade acid bomb that was detonated in the courtyard, near the Administrative Offices.
No students were injured and the school was placed on modified lockdown during the incident. A school employee suffered minor burns on his right index finger while removing the device out of the way after it had exploded. The area was secured and cordoned off by the School’s Resource Officers.
Upon concluding their investigation, deputies arrested 3 students at Cypress Creek High School. They are: Dat Thah, 16, an Asian, Scott Willard, 15, who is White and a Hispanic teen, John Flores, 16 years. They have been charged with placing and making a destructive device.
