Man Driving Erratically Arrested, After Fleeing Police

A man who was driving erratically through the streets of downtown Orlando on November 20th around 10:30 pm, was later arrested early Saturday morning.

Jerry Jennings, 20 years, who was traveling east bound in the west bound lane on West Central Boulevard at speeds of 70-80 mph, failed to stop as Orlando Police officers attempted a traffic stop.   Driving a red Nissan Maxima, after striking a police officer’s vehicle, Jennings continued on his erratic path, at a high rate of speed, on to sidewalks on West Central Boulevard, where numerous citizens occupied the driver’s path.

Police later apprehended Jennings who said that his passenger, Jemel Hamilton, had been involved in a shooting and that he was transporting him to the hospital.  Marijuana was found in the car that Jennings was driving.

Jennings was charged on several counts: fleeing/eluding police officers, failure to obey orders to stop, aggravated assault with a motor vehicle, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana.
