Second Harvest Hosts 5th Annual ‘Wine Women and Shoes’ Fundraiser

winewomenshoesfinalOn Saturday, April 11, Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida will host its fifth annual Wine Women and Shoes fundraising event at SeaWorld Ports of Call.

Hundreds of Central Florida women will be treated to food prepared by SeaWorld chefs, accompanied by wine from Napa Valley. Participants can enjoy shopping from local and national boutiques, live and silent auctions, a fashion show and chance to win in the signature Key to the Closet raffle. In addition, MIX 105.1’s CJ Robinson will emcee the event.

Sponsored by Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies, Wine Women and Shoes is the only event of its kind where 100 percent of the ticket proceeds go toward eradicating hunger in Central Florida.

“Wine Women and Shoes is a wonderful opportunity to help our most vulnerable neighbors while spending a fun afternoon shopping with girlfriends,” said Cindy Fox, event co-chair. “I’ve had the honor of serving on the planning committee since 2010, and it’s so rewarding to be celebrating the fundraiser’s fifth year.”

Second Harvest relies heavily on community support to provide food to its 550 partner agencies across six counties.

“Too many Central Florida families struggle to make ends meet and face significant challenges to put food on the table,” said Dave Krepcho, president and CEO of Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida. “Because of the generous donations we receive from partnerships like Wine Women and Shoes, we’re able to broaden our reach, expand our impact and provide service to those who need us most.”
