A Port Orange man shot dead two of his three children early on Friday morning, then turned the gun on himself, after a domestic dispute with his wife, Volusia County deputies said.
Investigators arrived just after 5:00 a.m, to a home in the 1900 block of Jackson Lane, west of Port Orange, after receiving a 911 call about a domestic argument between the unnamed couple.
According to investigators, the man’s wife had fled to a neighbor’s house for help. The woman told the neighbor she had been fighting with her husband and he had threatened her with a gun.
Shortly after, gunshots were heard.
Deputies, who entered the residence upon arrival, found an 11-year-old boy and 14-year-old girl dead, along with their father.
A 9-year-old girl was taken to a local area hospital and is in critical condition.
Investigators have not released the names of the deceased.
