On Monday, July 28, 2014, clergy and community leaders from Orange County Commission District 6—including representatives from FOCUS, NAACP, Vote Local, and AACCC, the African American Council of Christian Clergy—will host a candidate forum for Orange County Commission District 6.
The forum will provide an opportunity for residents and congregations to hear from candidates about their stance on pressing issues facing community residents, including jobs, crime, housing, transit, and redevelopment. Multiple candidates have confirmed their attendance.
“The residents of our community need to be informed and make sure their voices are heard,” says Faith Seabrooks, Board Chair of FOCUS and resident of Parramore. “We want each candidate to look the community in the face and tell them what solutions they will propose and put in place to solve critical issues like jobs, housing homelessness and crime. Then it’s our job to vote and hold them accountable.”
