Deputies are investigating how skeletal remains ended up in a garbage bag near U.S. 92, in Volusia County.
The discovery of the human remains was made by a resident Thursday, while walking along side Oak Street in Deland, near the intersection with International Speedway Boulevard.
Crime scene units and investigators were called to the scene around 12:30 p.m. and began their investigation.
No further details have been provided.
