District 5: Community Conversation set for March 14

Impact Central Florida and the Psi Theta Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. will host a political forum titled “Orlando City Commission, District Five: A Community Conversation” on Thursday, March 14, at the Mt. Pleasant Mission Baptist Church on Prince Hall Boulevard, beginning at 6:00 p.m. All qualified candidates for Orlando City Commission District 5, have been invited and they include Juan Lynum, Regina Hill, and Cynthia Harris.

This event is designed to give voters of District 5 an opportunity to hear from all candidates about their plans for the future of the district. In addition to hearing from the candidates, ICFL (Impact Central Florida) will have presenters on hand to give residents and voters more information on the Affordable Care Act and an update on the impending 2014 Legislative Session in Tallahassee.

Community activist and Star 94.5 radio personality Monica May will moderate and present questions to the candidates on topics including transportation, crime, and the city’s economy.

The “Orlando City Commission, District 5, Community Conversation” will be held at the Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church located at 4077 Prince Hall Boulevard in Orlando.
