A child who went missing turned up dead in the backyard of a home in Fruitland Park, according to news reports.
The child, who has not been identified, was found on Wednesday afternoon at a residence on Jewell Street.
Family members called 911 after the child could not be found. Police later found the child dead inside a hole in the septic tank, in the backyard.
The investigation is ongoing.
