The Magic and Chase will team-up in a “Day of Service” along with Magic guard Jameer Nelson, Magic Dancers, STUFF the Magic Mascot and Magic Community Ambassadors Nick Anderson and Bo Outlaw to unveil a refurbished basketball court at Mollie Ray Elementary (2000 Beecher Street, Orlando, 32808) on Saturday, January 18 from 1:30 p.m. – 3:45 p.m. The restored court will benefit the children of the Pine Hills community who attend the school.
The Magic and Chase will be honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with a mural painting service project around the newly refurbished court prior to the ribbon cutting. The Magic and Chase will work in concert with millions of other Americans across the country to honor Dr. King’s legacy by taking part in service projects throughout the weekend and on Monday, January 20. During the event, school students will also recite fragments from the works of Dr. King.
As Champion of the Community partners, the Magic and Chase have been working together on community projects that impact and benefit Central Florida. Together, they have refurbished four community sports facilities in the area including Mollie Ray Elementary with a goal of completing 10 total courts.
