A Winter Haven woman, who shot and killed her daughter on Monday night, is now in police custody.

Adele Bing, 52, was arrested at her home in the 1600 block of HighPoint Court, in Winter Haven, after she fatally shot her daughter, Ruby Bing, 25, police said.

Investigators said, Adele Bing was inside the residence after having a heated argument with her boyfriend earlier in the day.  The boyfriend, James Lane, was at the hospital being treated for injuries to his head, after she had hit him with a gun.

Police believe that when Ruby Bing knocked on her mother’s door later in the evening, she [Adele] was still upset with Lane and believed he was the one at the front door.

Adele Bing armed herself with a baseball bat and a handgun, police also said.  As she opened the door, Adele Bing fired, hitting her daughter, Ruby, in the upper chest.

Ruby Bing died at the scene.  In her arms she had a 4-month-old baby, who was not injured.

Adele Bing was arrested and charged with second degree murder and child abuse without great bodily harm. She was transported to the Polk County Jail.
