What is wrong with Dave Damron and the Orlando Sentinel? WONO was the first media outlet to report on Scott Randolph’s resignation as Orange County Democratic Party (DEC) Chair after news broke in last night’s DEC board meeting. That story likely caused Randolph to peddle a new lie to the Orlando Sentinel and reporter Dave Damron got played like a fool.
In the article, Damron writes, “Since winning his elected seat last fall, Randolph has been looking to remove his party chief hat.”
Total lie. Randolph was elected Tax Collector on the November 2012 ballot. The DEC elections for Chair were held in December, the month after. It is very easy to connect the dots.
In fact, Randolph had opposition in the election for party chair. Randolph aggressively campaigned for chair specifically saying he could wear both hats effectively and that his position as Tax Collector was a benefit in addition to being chair. Randolph said that only he could defeat Teresa Jacobs in 2014 as party chair.
Not sure what Damron at the Sentinel was thinking on this one. Looks like he is Randolph’s pet writer.
But we’re calling this one out.
