Osceola County Commissioners voted against building a $98 million complex in Kissimmee for the Washington Nationals as their spring-training home, the Orlando Sentinel reported.
In a 4-1 vote on Monday night, the majority of commissions turned away from the project after hearing a mountain of opposition from the tourism community.
Those opposed argued that, the cost to build the baseball complex, which would have been funded from tourist-tax receipts, was too huge when compared to potential benefits, the paper also reported.
