An Orlando man was sentenced to six years in jail Thursday, for driving drunk when he was in an accident that killed his passenger.

In addition to serving six years in prison, Patrick McCaul, 25, will also serve seven years of supervised probation and a lifetime revocation of his driver’s license for the death of William Fulton, 20.

Fulton was a passenger in a 2007 Honda Civil driven by McCaul when it crashed on Colonial Drive, west of Semoran Boulevard on July 31, 2011. Fulton died at the Orlando Regional Medical Center the next day.

McCaul was driving eastbound on Colonial Drive, when he attempted to make a U-turn and turned into the path of another vehicle.

McCaul’s blood alcohol test results were .194, four hours after the crash.
