A 9-year-old girl has given birth to a baby girl, authorities in Mexico revealed today, according to news reports.
The baby girl, who weighed in at 5.95 pounds, was born on January 27 in Zoquipan Hospital, in Zapopan, Mexico’s western Jalisco state.
The mother of the girl said, she was just over 8 years old when she got pregnant by a 17-year-old boy, according to news reports.
Authorities are searching for the teenage father, who it is believed, has fled the area.
