28-Year-Old Man Indicted for Rape and Murder of 13-Year-Old Girl in Orlando

A 28-year-old man has been indicted for the rape and murder of a 13-year-old girl in Orlando.

On August 28th, an Orange County grand jury formally indicted 28-year-old Jerry Dorisme for First Degree Murder (with a Weapon), Kidnapping with Intent to Inflict Bodily Harm or Terrorize (with a Weapon), Sexual Battery (with a Deadly Weapon or Physical Force) and Attempted Sexual Battery (with a Deadly Weapon or Physical Force).

On July 4th, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office responded to a man-down call at an Orlando apartment complex. After arriving on scene, deputies found a juvenile female victim who had been stabbed. Deputies found the girl in a closet, partially naked, and she had been stabbed. She was barely alive when law enforcement arrived, and she was transported to a hospital but sadly succumbed to her injuries.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office believes 13-year-old Rose Dieujuste was on her way to visit another friend in a different building at the apartment complex when she was attacked. Her friend found her cell phone and shoes in a staircase, and reached out the the family.

The family was knocking on doors looking for the girl, and they discovered Rose unresponsive in a utility closet.

Local law enforcement thanked many in the community who offered assistance, including a witness who saw a heavy-set male leaving the complex where the girl was found. According to witnesses and reports, Dorisme was homeless and frequented the local area watching girls.

Through investigative means, OCSO deputies developed Dorisme as a suspect. Detectives located him and arrested him one week later.

The State Attorney’s office presented sufficient evidence to a grand jury to secure an indictment in the Central Florida case against Dorisme for First Degree Murder (with a Weapon), Kidnapping with Intent to Inflict Bodily Harm or Terrorize (with a Weapon), Sexual Battery (with a Deadly Weapon or Physical Force) and Attempted Sexual Battery (with a Deadly Weapon or Physical Force).
