A 23-year-old man was recently charged in a shooting at a Central Florida house party where he was stabbed by the victim.
Volusia County deputies responded to a shooting incident reported around 1:42am on Flamingo Road in Oak Hill earlier this month.
The initial information provided from local law enforcement indicates a man at a house party fired a gun at another party goer, but missed. The victim then charged at the shooter and stabbed him in the stomach.
The shooter was airlifted to the hospital for treatment and detectives were responding to investigate further.
The shooter in this case, 23-year-old Nicholas Gant, was originally charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. After closer inspection, a grazing gunshot wound was discovered on the victim’s head.
The shooter’s charge was amended to aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, according to law enforcement.
He was admitted to the hospital for treatment of his injuries.
