Dwight Howard’s 26 points and 20 rebounds led the Orlando Magic to a 94-85 win over the visiting Milwaukee Bucks Friday night.
Hedu Turkoglu scored 10 of his 14 points in the fourth quarter to go along with 7 rebounds, picking up the slack for shooting guard Jason Richardson who wasn’t able to get anything going.
“That’s what great teams do, when somebody doesn’t have the greatest game they step up,” Jason Richardson said. “We finally got some energy toward the end of the second quarter and found a way to gut it out and get the win.”
Ryan Anderson connected on four threes, finishing with 23 points.
With Howard’s attitude you would have thought the Magic lost. Dwight picked up a technical for arguing a non foul call and was responsible for a delay of game technical. He left post game without speaking to reporters.
Carlos Delfino led the Bucks with 16 points but star point guard Brandon Jennings only had 14 points shooting 4 for 20. You may call that karma considering the comments he made about possibly playing in a larger market.
Orlando overcame two low scoring quarters with huge runs, a 14-1 run ending the first half bringing the Magic within 44-46 and a 14-3 run late in the fourth to seal the deal.
“It’s a little frustrating to me that it has to get to that situation before we put out that kind of effort but at least we did it,” Magic coach Stan Van Gundy said.
The Magic will travel down to play in state rival Miami Sunday at 3:30pm, a start to their four game road trip before hosting All-Star weekend.
