17th Annual Orange County Community Conference Announced

The Orange County Neighborhood Preservation and Revitalization Division announced on Friday, the 17th Annual Community Conference under the theme “Connecting Neighbors and Neighborhoods.”

This year’s conference will take place on Saturday, July 16, 2011 from 7:30 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. at the Orange County Renaissance Senior Center at South Econ Community Park, 3800 South Econlockhatchee Trail.  The entire day will be filled with opportunities for citizens to learn more about Orange County services, to gather key information from educational workshops, and to share new ideas for preserving and enhancing the quality of life in Orange County neighborhoods.

Derek Bruce, Chairman of the Orange County Redistricting Advisory Committee will be this year’s keynote speaker.

Community Conference workshop highlights includes:

·         Public Engagement and Citizen Advocacy
·         Mayor’s  Pride Grants
·         Finding and Keeping Volunteers
·         Homeowner’s Association Legal Issues
·         Engaging Neighborhood Businesses
·         Foreclosures
·         HOA Collections
·         Crime Prevention
·         Community landscaping

Registration is $10 in advance and $15 at the door. The event fee covers participation in the workshops, the exhibits, a light breakfast and lunch.  Our Conference Sponsors this year are:  Leland Management, Greystone Management Company, Sentry Management Inc., and Orange County Parks and Recreation.
