15-Year-Old Arrested for Murder of 14-Year-Old in Central Florida

A 15-year-old was arrested for the murder of a 14-year-old in Central Florida.

Tampa Police arrested 15-year-old Jahmir Moore in connection with the murder of 14-year-old Jevario Buie.

On April 17th just after 3:30pm, officers responded to reports of gunfire near the 1400 block of W. Busch Blvd. Upon arrival, they found Jevario near the railroad tracks between Busch Blvd. and Rome Ave., where he died from his injuries.

Video surveillance footage from nearby residences revealed Buie, Moore, and another subject were walking together between 2:41pm and 3:27pm.

At 3:33pm, Moore and Buie were observed on video walking northbound on N Rome Ave towards a dead end near the scene. Moore was the last person known to have been with Buie minutes before the murder happened.

At 3:36pm, Moore is seen walking westbound and southbound, away from the scene. Jevario is not seen with Moore.

Through investigative means, detectives were able to find records of Moore communicating with Buie before the murder, as well as social media messages, notes, and search history, all implicating his involvement. In one of the messages exchanged on a social media platform, Moore also disclosed details that were not publicly available at the time.

This month, members of the Tampa Police Department, working in partnership with the US Marshals Task Force, took Moore into custody.

Moore has been charged with One Felony Count of Murder in the First Degree, One Felony Count of Carrying a Concealed Firearm, One Felony Count of Tampering with Physical Evidence, and One Misdemeanor Count of Minor in Possession of a Firearm.

“The loss of a child, especially in such a tragic manner, is unfathomable,” said Chief Lee Bercaw. “I am incredibly appreciative of our detectives’ hard work that led to this arrest, but most importantly brought closure for Jevario’s mother and his family.”

“This has been a difficult journey for Jevario’s family. Not only did they lose their precious son, but they also had been living without answers. Now, our prosecutors will be able to hold his killer accountable and seek justice for Jevario,” said State Attorney Suzy Lopez. “This defendant will be charged as an adult in this case. When you make adult decisions, you must be prepared to face adult consequences in Hillsborough County. Thank you to the Tampa Police Department for their tireless efforts in investigating this case.”

UPDATE: An escaped juvenile inmate in Central Florida who was in custody for the murder of a 14-year-old will face additional charges after being caught.

  1. Illegal individuals to include pregnant women who gave birth in this country and children who came alone without their parents for (obvious reasons) to North America (US) should be deported ASAP from where they were allowed to enter the US. Illegals who have been residing here for ten or more years without any criminal of any felony convictions maintaining a good behavior, worked and show proof such as a tax ID number or definite proof of copies of legal work performed those years must be given a conditional privilege to stay and work their way up to receive a permanent working visa until they become US citizens. Children who came with their parents ten years ago or were born here during that period of time should be worked in by the government the same exact way. No one should be allowed to enter the US illegally. The US need to declare responsible every country for their citizens not the the US. It is abusive, irresponsible that the working class of the US must disbursed their taxes for this situation which has no benefits to our country. Sending children alone to be killed, abused and conduct human trafficking traveling in caravans and demanding to come into the US is not acceptable to no one in this country. The American dream is to come to work legally while having a mentor who must pay for any expense until that individual can be on their own!. Nothing is free because of false claims. We need solid proof. How many terrorists do we have crossing our borders, gangs from every south and central America? Our government does not have a clue. How many more good and working citizens including retirees and children will be targeted from this so called immigrants coming to live for free. We have our own hungry children, homeless, sick and aged people needing our care. We need protection right at this critical moment!
