A $15 million freestanding emergency room is coming to Apopka.
Construction began on the new $15 million HCA Florida Wekiwa Emergency in Orange County as part of HCA Florida Healthcare’s continued expansion to serve the growing Central Florida region.
Slated to open in late 2025, the nearly 11,000 square-foot facility will serve Apopka and nearby communities. Local officials as well as emergency services and business leaders recently joined leaders from HCA Florida Lake Monroe Hospital to break ground for the new facility.

HCA Florida Wekiwa Emergency Room in Apopka will be a 24/7, full-service, state-of-the-art emergency room with board certified emergency medicine physicians, nurses and healthcare professionals ready to care for patients with the same capabilities as a main hospital emergency room. The facility will feature 11 emergency exam rooms, computed tomography (CT) scan, digital X-ray, ultrasound, on-site laboratory services, and will be capable of caring for all ages, including children.
The freestanding ER is located at 2757 West Orange Blossom Trail in Apopka, and will treat patients with all types of acute injuries and illnesses every day of the year. In addition, the facility will employ approximately 20 full-time healthcare professionals.
