11th Annual ONYX Awards, March 28

ONYXfinalThe 11th Annual ONYX Awards will take place on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. (reception at 6:00 p.m.) at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, downtown Orlando.

This event has become Florida’s signature African-American awards show celebrating the accomplishments and contributions of African-Americans and those of the African Diaspora while supporting the noble mission of the LBS Foundation to emphasize health and education as uncompromising solutions to stronger and more progressive Florida communities.

Onyx is honored to have the Matriarch of the Voting Rights Act, Mrs. Amelia Boynton Robinson who continued the good fight after being violently attacked on the Edmund Pettus Bridge and Martin Luther King, III, a man who has not only followed in his father’s footsteps but has inspired another generation to pick up the banner in the fight for human rights.

This year’s honorees are: Business Empowerment Award – Inez Long, BBIF Florida, Business Award – Christopher Riley, Endurance Unlimited and Dr. Roslyn Artis, President, Florida Memorial University. All honorees for 2015 are listed here: www.onyxawards.com/honorees/
