WHAT: Sheriff Jerry L. Demings will present multiple awards to include:
WHO:
Certificate of Commendation – Connor Suglia, a ten year old boy, who called 9-1-1 when his mother fell on the floor, unresponsive. The 911 tape shows a brave, mature young man who answered questions being asked while on the verge of crying, even worrying to the 9-1-1 operator, whether or not he should be calling school about being late.
Certificate of Commendation – Deputy Shawn Emely (Sector-1) was on her way to briefing when he assisted a young female student who had been hit by a car hours earlier and left lying on the road.
Seton Award – Deputy Ronnie Bradshaw (K-9 Unit) was the first unit on scene when a Haitian family visiting from South Florida suddenly found themselves in distress in a pool. Deputy Bradshaw jumped in the water and pulled the victims from the bottom of the pool, unfortunately, they did not survive. However, he did give them gift of time by keeping one victim alive long enough to say good bye to their family.
