Tragically, Mario Reyes, 59, lost his life while trying to cross the street to catch a bus, on his way home from his night job. Reyes was stuck by a car driven by the Cleveland Browns wide receiver, Donte' Stallworth.
The survival of Nick Schuyler, who endured almost two days at sea after a boating accident that probably cost two National Football League players and another person their lives, was nothing short of a miracle, his doctor said.
Coast Guard spokesman Captain Tim Close announced, in a press conference at 4 p.m. Tuesday, that they will suspend their search for three missing boaters in the Gulf of Mexico at sundown today.
Ron Del Duca, agent for Detroit Lions defensive end Corey Smith, told CNN that Smith and Oakland Raiders linebacker Marquis Cooper were two of the four men missing since their boat disappeared on Saturday in waters off Clearwater, Florida.
Local professional golfer Jim Thorpe is in trouble for not paying his taxes. Thorpe is a resident of Heathrow and faces four counts of not filing an income tax return and three counts of failing to pay $1.6 million in income taxes.
