  1. This could have been prevented, management was warned of security officer’s hostile attitude, putting his foot down personality. He sure was dedicated to his job, but not smart to make the right decision, like not being careful to whom he confronted, I know, because I worked with the guy, On many occasions I did advised him to be diplomatic and careful on how to execute security enforcement, “not to make friends, but don’t make enemies, “you work alone at night in an unsavory area & that we are in the perfect situation for being ambushed”. I am not blaming my fellow officer, though he was dedicated, but not well informed about the seriousness of this kind of discipline we must acquire, but the lack of training and negligence by owner/management, because he was informed, by me. he should be questioned, he should take his responsibility for his part for not reevaluating his employees. I quite some time ago because the owner himself has a I don’t give a F@%k attitude. I don’t & won’t work with anyone with that kind of low professionalism, no one should either. One security officer for one site is a dumb excuse for saving money its irresponsible and careless. but it makes sense to a greedy bunch. It’s not the officers fault. arrest the murderer and fine the those who were irresponsible and careless. this goes to all who are the job still alive its just a matter of time. When out of the dark, jumps out, a scum bag that knows where you stand, and you, the security officer don’t have a clue where they’re hiding. not all the bullet proof vests or 9mm will be affective. only one of you and many of them, they see you, you wont see them if they want you they will have you. police have an advantage, vehicle, they are mobil, better training, 100% back up, trained in decision making, and a bunch of other thing we are short of like resources we cant afford, but maybe if those greedy bums were serious about security as well to those who provide security services, would probably do a better job if there were massive improvement, like the poor security officer have a better chance to go home. My condolence & sympathy to him and Family, he was tough and dedicated.

  2. Pretty sad. The management company should have used an outside security company. You are right, no security officer should be patrolling that type of site alone.

  3. Apparently it is up to the property management company to decide the number of guards and the hours. Over the year the hours at sable palms have been reduced and the officers as well. This was the decision of the property management company. They are to blame for this. Not PCI or Allen McPherson. I live at sable and he was always a good man to me and my children. He was one of the good few

  4. Alot of Property Managemant Companies have no clue that a Security Officer puts his/her life on the line more so than Law Enforcement. I worked in that area at a property that changed management and did cut Security personnel and hours. I know personally that there are alot of Security Officers who are not cut out for certain jobs or security itself. Sorry to say, but Metrowest is a high crime area and it started nearly 10 years ago. Every day the crime rate is growing!! I feel if a property management company is going to hire security, they need to understand one officer at night , whether a D lic. or G lic., is not effective. It takes at least 2 good officers, depending on the size of the location and what the post orders require. Two is always better than one when safety is an issue. Property managers, companies need to look out for the people who are looking out for them!! I’m a very disappointed Security Officer myself. The unfortunate family and friends of OfficerAllen McPherson are in my prayers. I also pray the murderer(s) are caught soon!!
What a shame, Metrowest used to be a nice, safe place to live!!

  5. Just to clarify to a comment I made in my last one regarding Law Enforcement. I have the utmost respect and trust for our Law Enforcement Officers. What I was trying to state is that we security officers (we are not guards) that work a regular post on a daily basis get noticed by alot of the same people on a regular basis, therefore our schedules are known. We have those who love, respect and appreciate us and then those who are haters. The haters are the ones that get caught on many occasions going against certain rules and regulations that are set by the the Management of the property. Our job is to make sure they don’t break the rules. Sometimes we have to enforce the rules as best we can. There are so many disrespectful people who show they don’t care about what our position is. They don’t understand that when they are in their unit we are outside taking a risk of meeting up with trouble. But I must say, there are also those that respect what we do to keep them safe, especially when we make sure they are getting a good night sleep. Sometimes we have to be firm while enforcing rules to the repeated offenders and it gets old, especially if we report it to the management and they do nothing on their part to back us up or to correct the situation. I look up Law Enforcement officers when they respond to our calls when we need them. Law Enforcement has a tough and dangerous job, but they are equiped and have backup immediately where we don’t.

  6. This apartment complex is a shit hole they don’t care about their tenants they do not care about their security guards the management team is a buch of ghetto unprofessional trash. This neighborhood is a shit hole full of trash from the signs earning of a rapist on the prowl to the ghetto kids roaming the complex to the unkempt ground the rats the roaches hthis place is like being trapped in a hell hole I feel bad for this man and every night I fall asleep in this shit hole apartment w my son in my arms us alone I wonder if we will wake up alive murdered by the ghetto trash that surrounds us or eaten alive by the rats and roaches the taff here sucks my son also had to have seven stitches In his face because a piece of their old bath tub broke and sliced his face not one word of empathy for him from the complex our refrigerator has broken several times the place was disgusting upon moving in and angle the front desk girl will tell you anything to get you in never ever live here infant the place is so bad it would be better if it was burnt down this was not the first tragedy to happen here and I sadly regret to say it won’t be the last

  7. bb~ I knew him as “bones” from back in the day with an MC club. I know he did his job, as I do. I’m a Security Area Supervisor and also in the MC world. I hope you were referring to the comment by Joseph Franco who said they used to work together. My comments were based on Security Officers in general. I said nothing negative about him. He was a good man!

  8. Coming from a current resident of Sabal Palms Apartments, I do not see any of this being the security companies fault. I have witnessed utmost professionalism from each officer I have met on duty. I have been given contact information in case of any incidents and I see the officers actively on the property every single night. Sometimes I see multiple officers walking the property. I usually see them after 5pm and that’s when I know the property is more safe. What happened to Officer McPherson was unexpected and there was nothing he could have done about it. When this incident happened, I was filled with fear for myself and my family as a resident of a property where a man was shot and killed. But I have not lost faith in the security company because after the terrifying events, they are still here ready to protect every single night.
