Woman Posing as Man Lures Teen into having Sex

Carissa Hads - suspect

A 24-year-old Massachusetts woman who allegedly posed as a teenage boy and lured a 15-year-old girl to have sex, is facing federal charges.

Carissa Hads, the suspect, was arrested on May 24 and is accused of enticing a minor to have sexual intercourse. Hads, if convicted, could face a maximum of 30 years in prison.

Upon Hads’ arrest, police found in her front pants pocket a “fake, flesh-colored penis” which they believe she used during one of two prior sexual encounters with the teenage victim, the Smoking Gun reported.

According to an affidavit sworn by an Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force investigator, Hads was posing as a 17-year-old boy named “James Puryear Wilson” when she met the teenage girl on an unnamed “social networking site” around October 2010.

“Wilson” maintained Facebook and MySpace pages that described him as a “youth pastor” living in Quincy, Massachusetts, where Hads actually resides.

Hads, who traveled to Pittsburg las month for her third encounter with the teen, was unaware the 15-year-old had begun cooperating with law enforcement. Police began their investigation after receiving a complaint that Hads had threatened the life of a girlfriend of the teen. The girlfriend had told the victim she did not believe that “Wilson” was a man.

Hads is being held without bond as a federal magistrate judge ruled she is a flight risk and a danger to the community.
