Supporters of the $1.2 billion SunRail project have won a crucial negotiating extension and likely will be heading back to the state Legislature, which has scuttled the plan twice before, most recently two months ago.
According to Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer, Chairman of the local SunRail Committee, “It’s far from a done deal. But what we have is one more chance.”
A major new development was the Jacksonville company, CSX , backing away from the June 30th deadline for the purchase of its tracks that SunRail intends to use.
