A 47-year-old Orlando man was fatally struck by a car on Thursday evening as he crossed Orange Blossom Trail at Jordan Avenue.
David Champagne, the pedestrian, was pronounced dead at the Orlando Regional Medical Center, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
Champagne, walking west, was crossing OBT just before 6:50 p.m., when a 55-year-old Harry Vidal driving south on the inside lane on OBT struck him.
Witnesses told troopers that the pedestrian walked out into the direct path of Vida’s Mercedes, and was hit by the front of the vehicle.
Vidal suffered minor injuries as a result of the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
