An Orlando man was killed Tuesday, after a tree fell on a pick-up truck in which he was a passenger.
Florida Highway Patrol identified the victim as Duc Khan Dinh, 50, of Orlando.
Troopers said, Duc’s son, 31-year-old Cuong Dinh was driving a 2001 Toyota pick-up on E. Crown Point Road near Fuellers Cross Road in Ocoee, when a giant tree landed directly on the vehicle just after 3:00 p.m.
Duc Dinh was taken to Health Central Hospital where he died of his injuries.
Cuong suffered minor injuries as a result of the accident.
Another vehicle, a Toyota van, driven by Rebecca Perfater, 38, of Apopka, heading south on E. Crown Point Road, was also struck when the tree landed in the roadway.
Perfater had her young child in the car at the time of the accident, but neither was hurt, troopers said.
It is not clear whether high winds in the area caused the tree to fall or if it was struck by lightening.
