Albertsons, the supermarket chain that also operates combination food-drug stores, will lay off 246 workers at three of its supermarkets in the Orlando area.
The stores are being bought by Sedano’s Supermarkets, a Hispanic-owned grocery chain in South Florida, which will be making its first foray into Central Florida.
The stores at which there would be layoff are: John Young Parkway in Kissimmee, South Orange Blossom Trail and Curry Ford Road.
Between 80 and 85 workers are expected to be laid off from each location.
