When a Local Food Truck Goes Brick-and-Mortar

Local residents Preya and Ravi Shivdat own Kona Ice of Northwest Orlando, a mobile shaved ice truck with a fundraising focus. They’ve decided to create a more permanent place to spread the joy and gather the community with the opening of their new brick-and-mortar Kona Ice storefront shop at 129 McKey Street in Ocoee.

“We’re really excited about our new Kona Ice store,” Preya said. “We love being involved in the community with our Kona Ice truck, and the store will give us even more opportunities to do just that! We can’t wait to continue serving our fans and create new ones with the opening of our store.”

In 2016 alone, the Shivdats gave back more than $40,000 to local schools and community organizations. The shop opened last week and will host a Grand Opening celebration on May 7th from 12 – 5 p.m.
