Wanted Man checking up on Orange County Inmate, Arrested

A wanted man who walked into the Orange County Booking Center earlier today to check on an inmate friend was promptly arrested by Orange County Sheriff’s Office deputies, after he was recognized.

According to OCSO:

On February 25th, a correction officer working at the Orange County Booking and Release Center received information that Demorris Leon Hogg (alias “Mike) a wanted known fugitive, was headed towards the jail to check the status of an inmate friend.  Hogg had gone to the Orange County Booking Center to await the release of an inmate, Cheyanne Talia Sadler, 19 years, who had been arrested on February 24th.  Sadler, who lives at Pegasus landing, building 28, had been taken into custody by UCF Police Department officers and charged with 17 counts of possession of Oxycodone, drug paraphernalia and cannabis.

At approximately 10:00 am, today when Hogg entered the Booking Center, the officer observed a man, who fit the suspect’s description.  The officer approached the suspect and asked his name.  The suspect identified himself as “Mike”.  The officer immediately asked the suspect to accompany him; however, the suspect recognized one of the officers on scene and fled the area on foot.  After a short foot pursue which concluded at the Race Trac gas station in the area Hogg was apprehended and transported to BRC.

Hogg is being held under a $1,100 bond.    However, has a detainer on four warrants from Volusia County and deputies say if even he was to post bond, he would not be released, given his Volusia County detainer.

Meanwhile, Sadler was released from the Orange County Jail on a Surety Bond of $3,450.
