Troopers are looking for the driver who struck and killed a man as he was walking near Northern Avenue in Lake County on Thursday night.
William Jernigan, 64, of Leesburg, was pronounced dead by the Medical Examiner. Â He was found lying in the roadway by a passerby just after 8:30 p.m.
Troopers say, Jernigan was walking in an unknown direction in the eastbound lanes of Northern Avenue and S. Haines Creek Road, when he was struck by an unknown vehicle, which never stopped.
The crash remains under investigation and charges are pending.
