A 14-year-old Evans High School student, who fought with another student on the school bus on Wednesday, has been arrested.
Orange County Sheriff’s deputies said, Genize Clairvil, 14, slashed Lavaughna Christian with a sharp object, after the two got into a fight. Christian was cut in face, chest, her left arm and across the back, investigators said.
Christian, who was interviewed by detectives at the Arnold Palmer Hospital, told deputies, although the two are friends, Clairvil began to tease her and call her names as they rode the bus home from school. She told detectives that she got up to leave the area of the bus to avoid the teasing and was pushed by Clairvil and that’s when the two started to fight. Suddenly, she was being cut with a sharp object, yet to be determined by deputies.
Christian, fled the bus and ran to her home on Meadow Brook Avenue, to seek help, she told detectives.
According to Clairvil’s arrest report, Christian sustained a laceration from the left side of her temple, around the eye socket to the top of her cheek bone, three cuts across her chest, one down her left arm and one across the back.
Deputies said, following a review of the school bus video, Clairvil was arrested at her home for aggravated battery, without incident.
