Report: Ex-Cop Accused of Shooting, Killing Son

A former 18-year veteran of the Orlando Police Department is accused of shooting his son to death during an argument on Saturday night, authorities said.

Timothy A. Davis, Sr., 47 years, is alleged to have shot his son, Tim Davis, Jr., at his Apopka home on Kings Eagle Lane, after an argument broke out over child custody, cfnews13.com reports.

Police arrived at the home of Davis, Sr., to find Davis Jr., suffering from a gunshot wound to his chest.  Davis, Sr., also was suffering from some type of injury.

Davis, Sr., was taken to Florida Hospital in Apopka, while his son was taken to the Orlando Regional Medical Center.  Davis, Jr., died early on Sunday morning at ORMC, according to cfnews13.com.

Davis, Sr., was taken into custody and booked into the Orange County Jail just after 7:30 a.m. on Sunday. He has been charged with first degree murder with a firearm.   He retired from OPD in 2006.
