The Orlando Magic will host 19 sessions of youth basketball camps, designed for boys and girls of all skill levels ages 7-16, all across Central Florida this summer. All camps, which begin on June 8, 2009 and have instruction provided by the National Basketball Academy and other top area coaches, are five days in length and run from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on Fridays.
The Magic will also host its second annual Overnight Basketball Camp from June 28-July 2, 2009 at Warner Southern University in Lake Wales, Fla., as well as an Orlando Magic “Mini” Camp on Saturday, July 18 at the RDV Sportsplex, which is designed for children under the age of 7.
Orlando Magic Youth Basketball Camps will feature personalized attention with a coach (no greater than a 1:8 coach-to-camper ratio), drills, skill development, live games and an individual player evaluation. All participants will also receive an official camp T-shirt and headband, a full-size Magic basketball, a ticket to a 2009-10 Orlando Magic home game, daily giveaways, prizes, awards and other trivia, contests and games. Guest appearances are subject to availability; past appearances have included Orlando Magic guard Courtney Lee, center Dwight Howard and Orlando Magic Community Ambassadors Nick Anderson and Bo Outlaw.
