“The Workplace Giving Campaign is one of the many ways City employees can show their commitment to the community and give back,” said Mayor Buddy Dyer. “Through their monetary contributions, our employees help address some of the most critical issues facing Central Florida.”

Some local contributions included donations to:

·        United Arts of Central Florida – to enhance the quality of life and variety of cultural experiences in the community by proving funding to cultural nonprofit organizations in Central Florida.

·        Society for Prevention of Cruelty for Animals (SPCA) of Central Florida/ Orlando Humane Society – to promote responsible human behavior toward animals.

·        Orlando Firefighters Benevolent Association – to support the health and welfare of Orlando firefighters who risk their health and life protecting the citizens of Orlando.

Gifts are made primarily through pay check reductions or through a one-time donation to any charity of the employee’s choice.

The majority of donations went to one of eight umbrella organizations including America’s Charities, Heart of Florida United Way, Community Foundation of Central Florida, Community Health Charities of America, Earth Share, Global Impact, Independent Charities of America and Neighbor to Nation.
