A 35-year-old Sarasota, Florida woman shot her 17-month-old toddler, then turned the gun on herself in what police have described as a murder-suicide.
Sarah Harnish, 35, was found dead in a home in the 4000 block of Old Bradenton Road in the Bayou Oaks neighborhood on Sunday, the heraldtribune.com reported.
Police also found Harnish’s 17-month-old girl, Josephine Boice, who was airlifted to All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg, where she later died, the paper also reported.
Police officers were called to the home by the child’s father who heard gunshots after returning from a scooter ride on Sunday morning.
